Hello Parents,
With the year about to wrap up I thought we could all use a reminder of important dates and things to remember for the next five weeks. (five weeks! )
May 11: Bump Up Day
4th graders will welcome 3rd graders from Kyle's classroom, while our 5th graders will experience a day in the life of a middle schooler.
May 20-22nd: Camp Out!
We will be sending out an information packet with students next week with all of the info you'll need. We still need at least 14 drivers!!!
May 27th: Food Cart Field Trip
We will be going downtown to experience a real food cart pod, including a meal! Money will be provided by our activity fund. Currently I have no volunteers for this trip so if you can please let me know.
May 28th: Food Cart Presentation/Pot Luck
We had a very successful pot luck at the beginning of the year and the 4/5 team thought it would be nice to cap off our year with another pot luck. It's been quite a year and we would love to celebrate the work your children have done!
June 3rd: Independent Project Night (tentative)
The public library has offered their space to host a night for us to display our independent projects. We will confirm this date soon.
June 4th: 5th Grade Field Trip
We will be taking the 5th graders to PSU for a 5th grade party during the day. Volunteers are still needed. 4th graders will stay behind with subs and planned activities.
June 5th: 5th Grade Graduation!
We will have our graduation at the Fire Station next door to the school from 1-3.
June 11th: Last day of school!
Phew that's a lot! On top of finishing state testing and work samples we have a lot on our plate for the next few weeks. I'll need parent support with their independent project. Students should be working on both the research paper and creative component at home. In class, we do work on the writing, but what doesn't get done, should be completed at home as homework.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
